Make plans now for FamilyFest.08! On Saturday, September 27 Valley Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Meridian, ID will be filled with the sound of Gospel music. Our groups are confirmed and we’re excited for this year’s event. One of the goals that we have for this special evening is to have something relative to a variety of styles in music as well as a drawing factor for all age groups.
If you enjoy live instruments accompanying vocalists, you don’t want to miss High Valley. This trio of brothers sing great harmony in a Christian Country style while playing mandolin, bass guitar, and acoustic guitar. Not only are they talented, they have a great spirit about them that will win your hearts.
Another highlight this year will be Phil Cross and Poet Voices. We have hosted Phil before as a solo artist and then with his wife and friend. This will be the first year we have his group Poet Voices at FamilyFest. He always brings great music, but even more importantly, leads us into a spirit of worship.
The Hunter Family from Canada will be a treat you won’t soon forget! This family is both incredible and unique in their presentation. They sing some tunes that you will definitely be familiar with but you’ve never seen them done in this way! What do we mean? We’re not telling! You don’t want to miss their energetic and sometimes humorous approach to Southern Gospel music. The great thing is they present it all in a spirit of humility.
The Treasure Valley and surrounding areas are blessed to have a lot of local talent that we have featured in previous events. This year will be no exception.
Testament from Nampa First Church of the Nazarene will be a feature group as well as your hosts Liberty Quartet. One of the most important things to me is that these groups will not only present some quality music but their lives will back up what they sing about. Many of you know the members of local artists like Testament and have confidence that their walks with God will be portrayed through the music that they sing.
Frank VanderZwan, pastor of senior adults at Menlo Park (CA) Presbyterian Church, will be the evening concert emcee. His irresistible personality coupled with his comedic presentation will be a welcome addition to this year's event. FamilyFest.08 promises to be one of great variety and talent for all ages. Keep checking the page. We will update our schedule as necessary. FamilyFest.08 will be great! Don’t miss it.
